You're safer in an EV!

 Read the full article - it’s not all EVs that are less likely to crash …

And yet I find myself sometimes trusting TACC  and Autopilot maybe more than I should - I’ll glance at my phone a bit more often than when I used to drive an ICE.

Tesla drivers are almost 50% less likely to crash while driving a Tesla than when driving other cars: study
New research from Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT), one of the industry’s largest telematics service providers, has found several interesting trends regarding electric vehicle drivers. Among the study’s findings involved Tesla drivers, who were almost 50% less likely to crash while driving a Tesla than when driving other cars.

EV event needs EVs

 I received this message a day or so ago, the coordinator needs EVs on display for Saturday, June 25, 2022. If you are interested, respond to Jim Riggins, rigginsj110@gmail.com , 719-313-6171 by June 12 if possible. Last minute cancellations and additions are not a problem.

============================

Hello Wilson,

I'm the volunteer chair of the Southeast Colorado Renewable Energy Society and I would like to ask for some CSEVC member support in June.  We host a series of free public lectures and education on a variety of topics in renewable energy and energy efficiency.  On Saturday, June 25, we will host a lecture on electric vehicle basics at Library 21C from 10:30 to 12:00 noon.  We would like to follow the lecture with a display of various EVs in the parking lot, and the chance for the public to chat with owners, starting at 11:30. The Google Maps locator for the library is https://goo.gl/maps/duS8AaLJ4pfExhnL9 .

I will have my Model X out there but I would love to see a wide variety of makes and models in the lot.  I know there have been at least 2 Rivian R1T deliveries in Colorado Springs and it would be outstanding if any of these owners are CSEVC members and might be able to attend.

Could you please send out the announcement of this event to the membership? I apologize for the late notice, but we've delayed the scheduling while waiting to see what the COVID situation would be.

Thank you.

Jim Riggins

Rivian R1T test drive

 One of our new club members, Robert P., offered to let my neighbor have a test ride in his Founder's Edition R1T. It was quite the experience! Here's the video: https://youtu.be/ILodRgUAcII .
