New member Jacob Van Stelle
Jacob Van Stelle is our newest member. He drives a 2024 Chevy Equinox EV. Jacob's email request to join the club is as follows:
My name is Jacob Van Stelle and I am a resident of Colorado Springs, and
the owner of a 2024 Chevy Equinox EV. I heard about your club from a
current member Gabe Caunt, who mentioned you were a great place to meet
other local EV owners, and to get further resources about EV Ownership.
It would be nice to be able to speak with others who similarly enjoy
their vehicles!
If possible, I would like to join your club and look forward to speaking with you soon!

Cars during disasters...
I want everyone safe and well in times of a crisis. I also know that a common complaint about electric cars is their alleged lack of power during a hurricane or other such disaster. I have found the following two articles interesting (there are many more!) that when a known event is approaching (hurricane), all the fuel in a large area is sold out and unavailable. Electricity, however, is completely available right up until something causes the grid to fail.
Check out the first two article I was able to find on the topic:

EV Expo in Pueblo, CO needs folks!
The Black Hill Energy Expo in Pueblo, CO this weekend (Oct. 12) needs two EV knowledgeable people to ride shotgun in CyberTrucks to answer questions. You do not need to bring a CyberTruck to the event, they just want some in the passenger seat to answer EV questions for the visitors. Please register at: https://driveelectriccolorado.org/event/black-hills-energy-ev-expo/ if you're interested. You may also contact Elaine Borseth at 858.395.8181 for more information. I believe these are paid events, so you can get paid to be the ride-along!
